The Jury of Brave New Visions: Creativity as Rebellion
Who gets to shape the images we see? Who challenges the way we look at the world? And who dares to imagine it differently?
For this year’s Global Open Call, we’ve brought together an extraordinary jury from across fashion, photography, art, and visual culture. Voices that challenge conventions, question established narratives, and open up new ways of seeing.
Today, we’re introducing Nicole R. Fleetwood (@nifleetwood).
A writer, curator, and professor at New York University, Nicole R. Fleetwood explores how images shape our understanding of race, power, and history. Through her writing and curatorial work, she brings attention to perspectives often excluded from dominant cultural narratives, examining how art can challenge established ways of seeing and make room for other accounts of history. Her commitment to questioning whose stories are told, and how they enter public view, resonates deeply with Brave New Visions: Creativity as Rebellion.
