Two years ago, Pip and I sat down for a little series we called Q&Gay—a chance for me to ask honest questions and for them to answer with honesty, humor, and grace. It sparked conversations we never expected, so this Pride Month, we’re doing it again.
Two years later, what I want for my kid hasn’t changed.
I want them to be safe. I want them to be able to build a life they can afford right here in Tennessee. I want them to be judged by their character, not have their identity debated or legislated by politicians.
Every parent wants to see their child thrive. That’s not a partisan value—it’s a human one.
Happy Pride. We hope this conversation brings a few smiles, maybe answers a few questions, and reminds all of us that our kids deserve joy, belonging, and the freedom to simply be themselves.
