A reminder that someone else’s achievement will NEVER take away from yours. ❤️

I’ve been thinking about this lately, especially as someone who shares so much of my training, progress and race results on here. I care about my times, and I’m competitive - but I’m only ever trying to compete with myself!! I think a huge part of that comes from growing up not always believing in my own capabilities. I’m motivated by proving to myself that I can do hard things, and I love sharing that progress. I don’t share my times for comparison. I share them because I’m proud of my progress. We’re not all starting from the same place, chasing the same goals or working around the same commitments and circumstances, so we should never expect our progress to look the same.

With that said, I LOVE seeing what others are achieving. I love seeing people get out of their comfort zone and try new things! I’m massively inspired by people running paces my mind can’t even comprehend, lol. I purposely included some RAPID, non-relatable 10K times from superhumans I know because their times will never make me feel any less proud of my own! I’m just as proud of people achieving times that might not look as ‘impressive’ on paper. Running imo is just as humbling at every level. It all takes effort, discipline, suffering - we all go through the same struggles! And seeing someone achieve a time that represents a HUGE personal breakthrough is just as special, regardless of what that time means to anyone else.

So yeah, I’m sharing times, but it’s NOT for comparison. I’ve shared them all because they are ALL worth celebrating - & thank you guys for sharing your times with me! Please never feel the need to shy away from sharing your achievements because someone else is faster, or because you think yours is ‘slower than the average’. Whether you run a xxK in 25, 45, 55 or 75 minutes, you earned that achievement. Be proud!! & remember someone else’s success doesn’t make yours any less worthy of being celebrated ok? Ok ly bye. <3
