Thanks to veterans across the country speaking out, the pressure is working! Speaker Johnson canceled votes on the bill as House Republicans remain divided over both the SAVE America Act and a Republican version of the Major Richard Star Act which has drawn strong opposition from veterans and national veterans service organizations.
Now Congress must do this the right way. I won’t support a watered-down version that cuts disability benefits for one group of wounded veterans to pay another.

In a 7-2 ruling on May 16, 2025 the Supreme Court found that Trump had violated the U.S. Constitution’s guarantee of due process rights (as “No person” within U.S. jurisdiction can “be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law” - U.S. Const. amend. V) with his misuse of the Alien Enemies Act as Trump had ordered expedited deportations of Venezuelan migrants to the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) in Tecoluca, El Salvador (a concentration camp) where prisoners are tortured. 8. “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice” - the 22nd Amendment. Donald Trump’s threats to run for a third term and support for it among Republicans in Congress is clearly part of the GOP’s goal at nullifying the 22nd Amendment. 9. Since Congress has the sole and exclusive power to declare war. Trump violated U.S. Const. art. 1, § 8, cl.11 by illegally attacking Iran without a declaration of war or congressional authorization. Trump’s failed war with Iran lasted from February 28th to June 17, 2026 when Trump surrendered at the Palace of Versailles in France by signing the Memorandum of Understanding on Iran’s terms. 10. Vice President JD Vance and the rest of the Cabinet level officials are in dereliction of duty by not activating Section 4 of the 25th Amendment which states - “the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office” as Donald Trump’s deteriorating cognitive abilities make it clear that he cannot understand or perform the duties of the office. On May 4, 2025 when asked on NBC's Meet the Press whether he has a duty to uphold the Constitution Trump responded "I don't know."

XIV, § 1. Donald Trump’s Executive Order 14160 issued on January 20, 2025 was a clear attack on the 14th Amendment’s guarantee of birthright citizenship. The Supreme Court struck down Trump’s Executive Order 14160 in the case Trump v. Barbara, 609 U.S. ___ (2026) & upheld Birthright Citizenship. 5. Trump’s weaponization of the government with Executive Orders - 14151, 14190, 14202, 14230, 14237, 14246, 14250, 14253, 14263, 14290 & 14341 to target and to harass/intimidate the press, law firms, universities, charities/non-profits, & even late night comedians for their freedom of speech are the worst violations of the First Amendment since the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798. 6. “No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath ... to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof” - U.S. Const. amend. XIV, § 3. This law was violated the moment that Trump was even allowed to be on the ballot in the 2024 election. Trump’s pardoning of 1,572 January 6th Insurrectionists on January 20, 2025 was a further slap in the face to the rule of law in the United States.

Presidential Immunity is contradicted by the Constitution itself as it says that the officeholder - “Shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law” - U.S. Const. art. 1, § 3, cl.7. Yet 6 Republican appointed Justices on the Supreme Court chose to nullify Article 1, Section 3 of the Constitution by inventing the new doctrine of “Presidential Immunity” that has no basis in Constitutional law in - Trump v. United States, 603 U.S. 593 (2024). 2. "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States" - U.S. Const. art. 1, § 8, cl.1. Trump's failed trade wars with America's allies & trading partners is in violation of the Constitution as Congress never approved them. Trump's tariffs have caused nothing but higher unemployment, higher inflation in the U.S. & crashes in the stock market. The Supreme Court struck down Trump’s tariffs in - Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump, 607 U.S. ___ (2026). 3. “No Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.” - U.S. Const. art. 1, § 9, cl.8 (The Foreign Emoluments Clause). Trump violated this everyday of his presidency as he has received billions from foreign governments such as China, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, & the UAE. Trump issued Executive Order 14209 on February 10, 2025 to pause enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act to further allow him to violate the law.
