Hannah Reads & Reviews: Bookgram

Event: Playing catch ups with my passion project. Two weeks ago I was a guest at a beautiful book event @gertrudeandalice for @laurenkeeganwriter and her recent novel The Woman In The Seal Skin. I attended together with my sister for a traditional book club, this time hosted by the most divine @kellydoustbooks & the incomparable @janeellenturner before we were surprised with the wonderful Lauren! A surprise for all in the audience and what a special evening we had discussing her multiple manuscripts, finding Kelly, becoming published and her wonderful way of including folklore and fairy tales into novels. I could have listened to Lauren & Kelly all evening. If you love fantasy, folklore, fiction meets non fiction and anything ocean this book is for you. At the end of the evening Jane spoke so wonderfully about @gertrudeandalice being in business for 25 years this year, and reminded us that supporting independent bookstores means everything to those business owners. So in Jane’s words… chose balance, try and support the small indie stores, even if it’s just a card or coffee and engage with your local independent bookstores. They really are magical places, as magical as the world @laurenkeeganwriter creates.
