Unique artwork

Alma Berrow (born 1992 in the United Kingdom) is a ceramic artist living and working in London. She holds a BA in Art and Textiles from Falmouth University and trained as a pastry chef before turning to ceramics during the first Covid lockdown — a hobby that quickly became her full-time practice.
Berrow transforms the overlooked debris of everyday life — stubbed-out cigarettes, fried eggs, used teabags, mouldy lemons, crisp packets — into glazed earthenware sculptures that are equal parts witty and poignant. Her work operates as a kind of contemporary still life, capturing fleeting, almost throwaway moments and rendering them permanent in clay. Playful on the surface, her sculptures carry a sharper undercurrent: a critique of excess, consumption, and the rituals — hedonistic or mundane — that define daily life.
Berrow has exhibited widely in the UK, the US, and Mexico, with solo shows at LAMB Gallery London and Charlotte Call Gallery, and group presentations including Timothy Taylor’s IRL: In Real Life and Fundación Casa de México en España. Her work has been featured in The Guardian, Tatler, Dazed, and Sleek Magazine. She is represented by LAMB Gallery London, Megan Mulrooney Los Angeles, and Adhasivio Gallery Mexico City.

Why we like the artist
Alma Berrow finds poetry in the things we usually throw away — a crushed cigarette, a half-eaten egg, a crumpled crisp packet — and gives them a permanence they were never meant to have. Her sculptures are funny before they are anything else, but stay with you for reasons that have very little to do with humour. There’s real tenderness in the way she looks at the ordinary. Represented by LAMB Gallery London, Megan Mulrooney Los Angeles, and Adhasivio Gallery Mexico City.
