"Amongst the Beauty and the Ache" 20x30 is a new one for the Fall Show @insight_gallery_fredericksburg.
I got this ram skull from my rancher friend, Garet. The skin was still on it. Rick was out of town, so I skinned it all by myself. Yup. Skinned it. By myself. The Beauty is the new life coming from the bird's nest and the Ache is the sadness of the death of a beautiful ram. Talk about a restricted pallet. I'm not sure why I just wanted to paint something with almost no color. Anyway, this is it.

You skinned it…hmm reminds me what I tried with a Dolphin exhumed after its burial for a year. I took it from beach. Bea cause it was soaked in salt, it didn’t decay as expected when I had a look after six months. Any way, because of my inexperience in the matter, my effort didn’t fetch anything. It’s illegal here to collect animal bones from forest. I have some fascination for them. Beautiful work with a story telling. ❤️
