A belated post for the @lachsadance Junior composition show.
My piece was entitled “ My Barre “
Through this piece, I wanted to communicate the complex dynamics of the dance community — and nothing captures those dynamics quite like the unspoken war over barre spots.
Every ballet class begins at the barre, it is the great equalizer. The barre spot is more than just a place to stand. It’s a whole psychological ecosystem.
