We are very happy to announce Alex Bordewyk as the winner of this year's 5 Bucks a Foot Gravel Fundraiser! Alex has been donating to our 5 Bucks a Foot campaigns since 2023, and he's never even been to the Lost Sierra! The Denver resident and bikepack-enthusiast is a supporter of SBTS' trail work from afar (and hopes to visit soon). For him, donating to a cause that benefits the trails, if even they're far from home, is a worthy investment.

"The thought of winning a new bike is always a good motivator," he says. "I love all the work being done in Colorado and it's cool to see what's happening [in the Lost Sierra] as well. I just can't believe it happened."

And now? He has a dream custom-outfitted Evil Bikes Chamois Hagar for a dream trip. "I've done a couple overnighters, and I'm hoping to do a bigger four-night trip this fall over birthday—now I’ll have a great bike for it. "

Thank you to Alex and everyone who donated to this campaign and helped us raise nearly $26,000 for trail building and maintenance in northern California and western Nevada. And especially to our partners, who made this campaign and so many others, possible: @evilbicycles, @patagonia_mtb, @paulcomponent, @shimanomtb, @ridefoxbike, @whiteind, and @wildernesstrailbikes, as well as @astralcycling, @loam_equipment, and @camp.and.go.slow. We couldn't do it without you!
