Berlin’s @l_huismann built his name on rhythm. A jazz drummer by training, he plays the machine like a kit, and his rise through techno’s serious labels has been quick, methodical, and ultimately, well-deserved.
Soma. Mutual Rytm. Monnom Black. “Embraced By Shadows” landed on Slam’s Soma in 2020. The “Sounds From The Past” trilogy anchored Mutual Rytm’s early catalogue in 2022. “Catharsis” followed in 2024, darker and heavier with the groove intact. His “Mechanized” EP on Monnom Black moved him fully into tribal techno, drum-driven and built for pressure.
The studio is only half of it. Huismann’s drummer instincts carry straight to the booth, where his mixing runs tight and physical. Few producers hold that command on both sides of the craft, especially with such a deliberately unique style, stance, and sound.
Next weekend he plays Tampa Bay for the first time. A first for the region, and one we’ve been waiting on.
