A very personal moment. ❤️
Some know I have a lot of family in Tijuana, and for years, I visited often, until my brother, Bobby, passed away on January 18, 2022.
The day I rushed to Tijuana to see him for the last time changed my life forever. After he passed, I couldn't bring myself to stay at my mom's house, where he had been living for years. Instead, I drove back and forth each day during the three days of viewing. The grief was just too overwhelming.
On the second day, I stopped by his favorite taco shop to let the owner and staff know that Bobby had passed. They hugged me, cried with me, and asked if I had a photo of him. At that moment, I didn't.
After that, I couldn't bring myself to go back to the taco shop or my mom's house, One day, I'll share more about why. But It all held too many memories
This month, my cousin and I finally decided to go back. As soon as we walked in, the owner looked at me and said, "I've been waiting for you." Then she showed me something I never expected.
My older sister had later brought them a photo of Bobby, and they had placed it on their altar. I couldn't hold back the tears.
My brother wasn't perfect, but knowing he was remembered with so much love by people outside our family touched my heart in a way I can't fully describe.
Today, I'm at peace, reflecting on beautiful memories and feeling grateful. ❤️
Kindness, love, and impact we leave on others continue to live on long after we're gone.
