This weekend, I had fun leading a storytime @fablongbeach at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library, sharing My Ông Ngoại’s Garden with children and families. It was rewarding to introduce young readers to fruits like rambutan and dragon fruit.

One of the highlights was meeting fellow authors, local artists, educators, and nonprofits, all working to champion AAPI stories in their own ways.

This festival was a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together around books, culture, and belonging. Grassroots efforts like this create space for AAPI voices to be celebrated and inspire the next generation of readers.

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. I left the event feeling grateful, inspired, and even more motivated on my self-publishing journey. 📚
