Stage Reading “SCARECROW” written and directed by @arielblopez.
Grateful to Ari and the rest of the cast and crew. Meditating today on how wonderful this story is and can’t wait to see what comes next.
Synopsis: a drama set in the dusty barrio of South Tucson, Arizona, in 1997. Scarecrow unfolds over one night at a going-away party where a tight-knit group of young Chicanos gathers for the first time since the death of a friend. What begins as a celebration quickly turns volatile as grudges, grief, and machismo resurface. Scarecrow, an ex-gang member, plans to escape his hometown and troubled past by joining the Marines, but his decision sends shockwaves through the group. As the night spirals, violence creeps closer, and the party teeters on the edge of chaos.
