POSTS STORIES REELS

It’s one thing to share your struggles to your closest friends and family members, and it’s another thing to share it and be vulnerable with the entire world. But I’ve learned that the more I talk about it the less it has control over me.

I had the pleasure of being part of the campaign “Don’t Wait, Reach Out.” An initiative by the VA and the Ad Council designed to encourage veterans to seek support way before a crisis.

This campaign has brought me an opportunity to share my story and bring hope to my fellow veterans. Here I leave you with an article published this week in @upworthy to bring awareness to this campaign. I hope this encourages someone to seek support as well. 🫡

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

I am so blessed to have this man by my side. You have no idea how much he has helped me throughout this journey of healing. Te amo! 💕

story time: the indeed commercial!

So a few months ago I had a chance to audition for this commercial. I got a callback (….for my non-actor friends: that’s when they liked what they saw in the first clip and want to see more!), I was then placed on AVAIL/HOLD, and a few days later I got notification that I booked it. Got a call on a Thursday afternoon and was asked if i was free to fly the next day to Barcelona, Spain. “Umm Yes, please!” 🤭✈️🇪🇸

It was such an incredible experience from start to finish. Loved working with everyone on set, my fellow cast members and the crew. Everyone was so welcoming and excited to be on set. I’ll forever treasure this experience…

…and not only because this has been the biggest commercial I’ve booked in my acting career (I know it won’t be the last 😉)…. But because I learned something through this experience (well really the months leading up to this commercial), ….and that is…God is my provider. Only God and those closest to me know of the events leading up to this opportunity and we can all agree….. BUT GOD! When it looked liked everything was going sideways and when those around me couldn’t comprehend the chaos, there was supernatural peace in me that God was in control... and He was. He is my provider and there’s nothing that can scare me away when I have him on my side.

This summer has definitely been a BUT GOD summer and I’m grateful for everything I have gone through this year even the thorns I’ve experienced because they pushed me to lean more on God and less on my own understanding.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

If you’re going through rough times right now, or are just feeling discouraged because things aren’t going the way you planned… I just want to encourage you to keep believing that God is in control even when you don’t see anything moving.

… and lastly, thank you to all of you who have supported me on this crazy journey. 🙏🏽

My life changed on 9/11….

I still remember like it was yesterday, watching the news live like the rest of the nation and realizing the plane I was watching was not a replay, but a second plane going through the second tower.

A lot of you reading this were probably not even born when this tragic event happened. Perhaps you don’t understand how it changed a lot of us. Some of us lost friends and family members. Others felt a call to answer.

I experienced the aftermath through grown ups around me, and 12 year old me felt like this was my chance to do something meaningful. To contribute back to a country that has given my family a better life. Back then putting on the uniform felt like the right thing to do. But once I got deployed to Afghanistan I started questioning a lot.

I don’t regret joining. But I also am allowed to think differently about what’s happening around the world without taking away the honor or value I gained in raising my right hand and taking an oath. Both can coexist.

It gave me the life I have now. If it wasn’t for the military I probably wouldn’t have traveled to over 14 countries. I gained two friends who became sisters to me. I met all walks of life through language, skin color, cultures. I learned to not take the small things for granted. I learned there’s always two sides of a story and that I should always be openminded to hear both. I also learned that one persons bad actions does not represent everyone that look like them.

9/11 changed the course of my life and even though I didn’t know at 12 years old, now living in New York, hearing a plane go above the buildings makes me think of that day 25 years ago.

Stage Reading “SCARECROW” written and directed by @arielblopez.

Grateful to Ari and the rest of the cast and crew. Meditating today on how wonderful this story is and can’t wait to see what comes next.

Synopsis: a drama set in the dusty barrio of South Tucson, Arizona, in 1997. Scarecrow unfolds over one night at a going-away party where a tight-knit group of young Chicanos gathers for the first time since the death of a friend. What begins as a celebration quickly turns volatile as grudges, grief, and machismo resurface. Scarecrow, an ex-gang member, plans to escape his hometown and troubled past by joining the Marines, but his decision sends shockwaves through the group. As the night spirals, violence creeps closer, and the party teeters on the edge of chaos.

Viva La Raza!

“Pride vs Humility” here’s a throwback to one of my favorite projects I’ve done thus far “Operation Recon.”

Ooohhhhh the old friend PRIDE. Pride is something I have to say I’ve struggled with. 🙄 Struggling with. To this day, if I’m being completely honest. I’m sure I’m not the only one 🙋🏻‍♀️

Don’t get me wrong, I do believe there is healthy pride. The one that makes you feel proud of what you’ve done, your achievements. Like when I was serving in the military full time, I felt honor in serving and protecting others, but sometimes the feeling would creep in and make me think I was better than others. 🙄 Or even as an actress, I can feel proud of what I bring to the table, my talent and hard work, but it’s a problem when I base my worth on applause or validation. OR also in relationships with my loved ones. Always wanting to be right more than wanting truth or peace. This unchecked pride blinds people.

BUT we don’t have to prove our worth by being right, or better, or good enough. God already sees and values us as we are. Letting go of pride isn’t losing; it’s making room for truth, growth, and peace. Real strength is choosing HUMILITY, even when your ego wants to win.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:
Bible doesn’t say “never feel proud.” It says:…
• Don’t let pride become your identity
• Don’t let it separate you from truth, humility, or others
• Let it be rooted in purpose, not ego

Here’s to more projects like these!!

STELLA ADLER CLASS OF 2026! 🎓

Three years later, and I still think about that night. I remember walking away from my computer, stuck on the submit page, convinced I was out of my mind for even considering moving to NYC to study acting. But something wouldn’t let it go. I went back, took a breath, and hit submit. That night changed everything.

Hands down one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I had the chance to train classically with some truly amazing teachers and somewhere along the way, I met my husband too. 🥹

Stella Adler believed that, “growth as an actor and growth as a human being are synonymous,” and I couldn’t agree more. When I was on active duty in the Army, it felt like career had to come first. Now, I see it differently, and actually living, taking risks, and experiencing life is what brings honesty and depth to the work.

Thank you @stellaadler for shaping me into not just a better artist, but a better human being.

What a great way to end my journey at Stella Adler Studio of Acting! It has been a blessing working with this cast and crew! Graduation tomorrow! 🥹
