May be a Twitter screenshot of text that says 'Sammy Dabbs Aug 8, 2022 11 years ago today, I thought this was the beginning of my coaching career, when in in reality it was the the exit lane towards the the ending of my college coaching career and the foundation for what was to come. 11 years later and I have coached kids to run faster than what I did as a college coach.'.

It's been quite the journey. I'll tell any young Coach, don't get caught up in the glitz and glamour. My best memories as a college coach were at UNT and Texas State. My favorite staff I worked On was Texas State. Kentucky gave me a chance to see how the other half gets'.

Follow your path, no matter how far out the way you may think you are going. If we saw what we had to go through to get to where we are going, many of us would stay put. However, have you seen red on a GPS before and got there and it was nothing sometimes that's exactly how the journey can be.'.

Sometimes you have to dig deep to find out the story behind the glory. Unlike most, I am a former college coach who actually coached in 3 different conferences, NCAA Championship (indoor and outdoor) as well as had athletes on U20 teams and athletes compete at USA Championships. By the time I entered the private sector in 2013 I had 11 years of collegiate coaching under my belt. Coaches dream of making it to the SEC, I actually did it. So when I give my opinion about things, I have some insight the average person does not. I appreciate those who have remained the same and didn't switch up just because I don't wear a polo anymore.
