Brandy Adams

What an honor to share my spoken word piece, “Bring Me Your Young, Gifted, and Black Jobs,” at Adinkra Lounge’s Open Mic Night last Friday at @ashe_cac

Having Baba Veronza Bowers @veronzabowers in the audience was a blessing. I was also honored to play a game of chess with BP royalty, activist, healer, and elder in the movement. (Of course, he beat me.)

It was great reconnecting with so many talented and creative brothers and sisters. Great things happen in small rooms.

Special thanks to @ashe_cac Ashè Cultural Center and @charlievupt brother Charlie V Uptown for continuing to create spaces where art, culture, and community thrive. Can’t wait for the next one! P.S. classic black movies x open mic = magic! 🪄
