I adore the brand idea and the bottle wasn't even the interesting part. The brand is built around harvested rainwater from Cherrapunji (one of the wettest places on Earth) errapul The packaging and orano identity are so good, they almost convinced me to drink gin just so I'd have an excuse to keep the bottle.'.

It was Moonshine Meadery. I'd never even heard of mead before. Nitin and Gaurav had somehow managed to make one of the world's oldest alcoholic drinks feel cool again. They have really used their brains. They took something most people had never even heard of, built a brand around it, and now they've got people ordering fermented honey at bars.'.

May be a meme of wine bottle and text that says 'Strangers & STRAN RSO sons I've noticed that whenever people talk about Indian craft gin, this brand almost always comes up. Instead of trying to copy international brands, they built something that proudly feels Indian, right from the botanicals they use to the way they've designed the brand. I think that's what makes Stranger & Sons so interesting, they didn't ran after becoming the next big international gin. They built an Indian brand that people around the world wanted to try. STRANGE SONS GIN'.

It looked like something you'd naturally want to pick up. Simba entered the market when craft beer was still finding its place in India. Instead of competing with the biggest beer brands, they focused On building a premium craft identity, and that's probably why people still remember them today. GHT'.

I went down a rabbit hole looking at Indian alcohol brands… and I genuinely didn’t expect to find stories this interesting.

Some of these brands have built entire experiences around their products. Others took categories most people barely knew about and turned them into brands people actively seek out.

The more I read, the more I realised this isn’t just about alcohol.

It’s about positioning.
It’s about branding.
It’s about building categories before everyone else catches on.

Which one surprised you the most?

Cherrapunji is crazy good. Their packaging game, the flavor, everything about it is a class apart

Curious to know if people would want ease in consuming liquor or the age old traditional methods are still valid For eg - Ready to drink (RTD) vs Liquid + ice + soda
