Earlier this year, I was awarded the Adventure Lens Grant from Summit Scholarship, a grant that supports women interested in mountain filmmaking.

As part of it, I traveled to document an all-women's mountaineering expedition on Mount Baker, where participants between the ages of 14 and 22 learned the fundamentals of mountaineering.

I can't remember the last time I felt that nervous and that excited at the same time. But from the very first day, I was surrounded by incredible women who made me feel welcome and safe. It's an experience I'll carry with me for a long time, with people I'll never forget (and a marmot attack).

Thank you to @summitscholarshipfoundation and @awexpeditions for creating opportunities like this, opportunities that simply wouldn't have been possible for me in Mexico.
