Most people do lateral raises standing up with too much weight and too much momentum.
CBum does them chest supported.

One position change that removes everything that does not belong in a lateral raise — the body swing, the trap involvement, the momentum that lets the side delt avoid doing any real work — and leaves only what matters. pure mid delt tension through a controlled range of motion.
Here is why chest supported changes everything.

When you stand during a lateral raise your body naturally compensates as fatigue sets in. a slight forward lean. a small hip drive. a shrug at the top. each compensation reduces the tension on the mid delt and distributes it across muscles that were never supposed to be involved. by the end of a standing lateral raise set most people have done half a lateral raise and half a full body swing.
The chest supported position eliminates all of it. the torso is fixed. the only thing that can move is the arm. the mid delt has nowhere to hide and no assistance from anything else. every rep is a lateral raise. not a negotiation between the delt and whatever other muscle wants to help.

CBum says it directly. when stability increases stimulus increases.

The weight drops. the stimulus rises. the side delt grows.
The capped shoulder look — the round three-dimensional delt that creates the wide frame CBum is known for — is built by the mid delt. not the front delt that pressing movements already train heavily. not the rear delt that rows partially cover. the mid delt. trained directly. with tension not momentum.
Save this. try chest supported lateral raises on your next shoulder session.

Less noise. more results.
