Adeola Davies Aiyeloja Art

Honored to announce that I have been selected as a recipient of a 2026 California Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship, one of California’s highest recognitions for individual artists.

I am deeply honored to share that I have been selected as a recipient of a 2026 California Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship.

This recognition is more than a personal milestone. It is an affirmation of over three decades of creating work that explores cultural memory, identity, ancestry, and community. It also honors the many people who have trusted me with their stories, collaborated with me, supported my vision, and walked alongside me throughout this journey.

As an artist born in Lagos, Nigeria and rooted in Southern California, my practice has always been about creating space for dialogue, preserving lived experiences, and building connections across generations. Whether through Living Matter, Sacred Imprints, the Menopause Art Narrative Project, public art, or community workshops, I believe art has the power to bear witness, foster understanding, and strengthen our communities.

My heartfelt thanks to the California Arts Council, Arts Connection, Arts Orange County, and Riverside Arts Council for this incredible honor and for investing in artists whose work serves communities throughout California.

Thank you to my family, friends, collectors, fellow artists, community partners, and everyone who has encouraged and supported my journey. This fellowship inspires me to continue creating work that amplifies underrepresented voices and contributes to a more inclusive cultural landscape.

I look forward to sharing the work that lies ahead.
