If anyone asked me what one of my favourite albums of all time is, Now by @maxwell is on my top 5 list

This was one of the albums my dad would play whenever we’d drive to Upington for school holidays. I’d genuinely look forward to those drives because I knew this album would come on at some point, actually I’d usually be the one who’d put this CD in😅. Before I even understood what most of the lyrics meant, I fell in love with the way each song made me feel

There are songs for yearning, real yearning. “Silently” is still my favourite Maxwell yearner songs. There are songs that feel mischievous and cheeky, the kind that make me sway my hips even when I’m trying to sit still. And the lyrics on “W/As My Girl”… yoh. Listen, those hit a little too close to home. 22 year old Chaba had that song on repeat because I finally understood the kind of heartbreak he was singing about

Also, Maxwell is coming to Cape Town this year.
