Wow son. You are 18 today! I’m reliving so so many special memories with you, starting with the first day I held you in my arms…my firstborn, my son, my namesake. From that moment I learned how deeply I was able to feel love. It’s hard to put into words… this song does a nice job. I will love you always! There’s no way I could be prouder of the man that you are today!

Today I finished 16 of 19 radiation treatments. Just three left! 🤍 Here’s what nobody tells you about radiation… It’s every single weekday (except holidays). It becomes your routine — like a job you didn’t apply for. It’s sneakier than chemo. You feel okay… until you don’t. Everyone’s experience is different. Some feel fatigue early on, some don’t experience it at all, and others feel it after treatment ends. So far, I haven’t experienced any fatigue, and I’m praying this trend continues! Your skin needs babying. I’ve been applying CeraVe Moisturizing Cream to the radiated area 4–6 times a day. So far, my skin has been holding up well. A couple of my followers suggested Mepitel film, and I looked into it. Ultimately, I decided not to use it because I wanted to continue strength training and was concerned about managing the film during sweaty workouts. Your energy needs budgeting, too. Even when you feel fine, give yourself permission to slow down when you need to. Prioritize what matters, build in time to rest, and remember that doing less on some days isn’t a setback. It’s listening to your body. And if you’re feeling good enough to keep moving, you don’t have to give up the things that make you feel like yourself — just be willing to adjust as needed. And as the finish line gets closer, you might find yourself thinking about what comes next. You’re grateful to be nearing the end, but there may also be uncertainty about recovery, side effects, and the road ahead. Finishing treatment is a milestone, even when your emotions don’t fit neatly into a celebration. Every woman’s radiation story has its own plot twists.
