IRONMAN. It’s never just about race day
This past weekend at IRONMAN Canada in Ottawa, our boys absolutely destroyed their personal bests.
I (coach
@g.sm1th ) was on the ground all day, stressed, excited, and honestly pretty fired up. Watching them execute was something special.
But at the same time, I wasn’t surprised.
They earned it.
I’m not sugarcoating it, their compliance to training over the past year was as close to perfect as I’ve ever seen.
Session after session, week after week, they showed up. Rarely have I seen that level of discipline.
You can’t hide from an Ironman.
The durability required isn’t built by simply accumulating training hours. It’s built by putting in the work with intent, trusting the process, communicating honestly, and me , making adjustments when needed.
In a world where social media makes it seem like everyone is racing a full Ironman every other weekend with a smile on their face, remember …
That’s not reality.
Finishing an Ironman is rare. Racing one well is even rarer. It’s brutally hard, and that’s exactly why it’s so rewarding.
Huge kudos to our two BKYRD athletes and proud members of the Canadian Armed Forces. 🇨🇦
Your work ethic speaks for itself. Proud to be in your corner.
