Moth Week lined up perfectly with our Community Day! And the full moon... 👀🌕
After a full week of moth-themed events like the Moth Ball hosted by
@jbrpc and a lively lecture hosted by
@amnh, I was more excited than ever to theme our Community Day at
@thetrainercourt around these often-overlooked pollinators. Not only are they critical to the reproductive cycles of countless plants- moths comprise TEN PERCENT of ALL named species. I likened Venonat less to a gnat and more to a mite, with its fused body... but I think it still worked out 🙂↕️ Venonat is the larval stage, and through "Evolution," metamorphoses into Venomoth. Such a diverse and important group, fittingly represented by a similarly underrepresented line of Pokémon.
Bringing these little bugs to life with a room full of inspired crafters also excited to hear about how their Venonat might live worked so well, and I loved chatting with everyone during each session and even after the last session wrapped up.
@project0151 continues this idea at a grander scale- by seeing how ALL 151 Kanto pokémon might live in and around the big city. I'm excited to explore these guys in more detail over there 👀
