A contemplative pathway curving through a dense, native wildflower meadow with white and yellow blooms. In the background, the historical Jewish cemetery of Šeduva is visible, leading the eye to the modern, aluminum-clad gabled rooflines of the Lost Shtetl Museum in Lithuania under a soft morning sky. Landscape design by Enea Landscape Architecture.
A lush, biodiverse meadow of native Lithuanian wildflowers and high grasses glowing in the warm golden hour light. In the background, a row of mature birch trees stands beneath a soft blue sky with light clouds, framing the regenerative landscape of the Memorial Park designed by Enea Landscape Architecture.
The minimalist stone entrance wall of the Lost Shtetl Museum in Šeduva, Lithuania, with the name inscribed in Lithuanian, English, and Yiddish. A manicured green lawn in the foreground meets the modern, scale-textured aluminum facade and timber-slat details of the building designed by Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects.
A dark, curving gravel path winding through a dense field of white wildflowers, poppies, and marigolds at dawn. In the misty background, a stone wall separates the park from the historic headstones of the Jewish cemetery, reflecting the spiritual concept of 'The Last Journey' designed by Enea Landscape Architecture.
A minimalist, wooden-shingled larch shelter structure standing next to a slender white birch tree. The structure is nestled within a dense meadow of white flowering Queen Anne's lace and wild poppies, with a dark pedestrian path curving around the seating area in the Memorial Park.
A calm, engineered water pond reflecting three slender deciduous trees and the sharp, triangular white rooflines of the Lost Shtetl Museum. The sky behind the buildings glows with a soft orange and pink sunset, highlighting the seamless integration of natural water systems and modern architecture.
A large, mature deciduous tree perfectly reflected in the glass-like surface of a circular black stone water feature. Behind the reflecting pool, a low limestone wall with integrated lighting sits below the geometric, metallic shingle roofs of the museum complex at dusk.
A young white-bark birch tree planted in dark mulch and surrounded by ornamental grass, set against the detailed, scale-like metallic facade of the museum building. An arched window reflects the flat, open Lithuanian countryside in the distance.
An understated wooden and steel outdoor bench placed on a paved platform, surrounded by tall ornamental grasses, purple wildflowers, and mature trees. The wooden larch shelter structure is visible in the background, creating an intimate and quiet sanctuary for visitors.

How do we honor the past while contributing to a resilient and meaningful future?

At the Lost Shtetl Memorial Park in Šeduva, Lithuania @dingesstetlas memory, ecology, and human experience are brought into a unified spatial expression.

While the entire museum complex was recently honored by the @prixversailles, our focus was the creation of the surrounding regenerative landscape. Designed as a natural extension of the museum, the park eschews a singular memorial gesture. Instead, it offers a continuous sequence of atmospheres—transitioning from open, expansive fields to intimate, enclosed spaces. It is a place of remembrance, quiet movement, and ecological renewal.
