A while back we had to say goodbye to our sweet baby Noodle. He was by my side for almost 10 years and we lived so many lives together. He was found on the side of the road in rural Ohio, tiny and yelling, and became my baby immediately. He grew up with Ali and I as we graduated college, then drove (and camped!) across the country with me to my first real job in SF. He loved to sprawl out in the sunshine on the dashboard of the car and waking me up with his sharp claws 😒
He visited ten states, and lived in three cities in five apartments alongside many many co-parents and kitty roommates. He often felt less like a pet cat and more like my evil sidekick, an impish little man who lived in my house, looking at me smugly as if he knew something I didn’t 🙂↕️ He loved tomatoes?? And somehow knew the sound of me chopping them and would come running to scratch my legs until I gave him his fix 🍅
In his later years I got to watch him snuggle with his Sam, whom he definitely loved even more than he loved me. He loved to not-so-gently wake Sam up in the mornings and lead him to the shower so he could drink out of the floor drain (??) and leave tiny wet paw prints on the rug. If the TV was on Noodle would stare at Sam until he made a little blanket nest and they’d nap together in the afternoons. We are so sad without our buddy and I wish I could give him 1000 more kisses. There’s a hole in my heart the size of his and I’ll miss him forever ❣️
