POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
A while back we had to say goodbye to our sweet baby Noodle. He was by my side for almost 10 years and we lived so many lives together. He was found on the side of the road in rural Ohio, tiny and yelling, and became my baby immediately. He grew up with Ali and I as we graduated college, then drove (and camped!) across the country with me to my first real job in SF. He loved to sprawl out in the sunshine on the dashboard of the car and waking me up with his sharp claws 😒

He visited ten states, and lived in three cities in five apartments alongside many many co-parents and kitty roommates. He often felt less like a pet cat and more like my evil sidekick, an impish little man who lived in my house, looking at me smugly as if he knew something I didn’t 🙂‍↕️ He loved tomatoes?? And somehow knew the sound of me chopping them and would come running to scratch my legs until I gave him his fix 🍅

In his later years I got to watch him snuggle with his Sam, whom he definitely loved even more than he loved me. He loved to not-so-gently wake Sam up in the mornings and lead him to the shower so he could drink out of the floor drain (??) and leave tiny wet paw prints on the rug. If the TV was on Noodle would stare at Sam until he made a little blanket nest and they’d nap together in the afternoons. We are so sad without our buddy and I wish I could give him 1000 more kisses. There’s a hole in my heart the size of his and I’ll miss him forever ❣️ by @bun.anner

I have been planning a lil quilt in my head for Maddie’s first baby for YEARS!! Jonah I love you more than you’ll ever know and I haven’t even met you yet. You’re going to be so spoiled by your Auntie Anna. Please try not to throw up on your quilt too much :)

The quilt top is the #leilaniquilt pattern by @wifemade . It’s pieced from a mixture of cotton seersucker and linens, some of which are offcuts from fabric Maddie, Emma, and I purchased during the very first days of Rabbit’s Foot. The back of the quilt is a combo of Goodnight Moon fabric from @cloud9fabrics and a bunny print for our newest little bunny Jonah 🥰 by @bun.anner

EDIT: RAFFLE CLOSED
WIN THIS HANDMADE QUILT and support families in Chicago impacted by ICE! 100% of the entries for this raffle will go to the Street Vendors of Chicago (@streetvendorsofchicago). Shipping (if outside Chicago) will be covered by me.
Our neighbors are being kidnapped, beaten, and terrorized by ICE’s presence in Chicago. From SVAC: “Right now, our community is living in fear. The current political climate and ICE enforcement threats are silencing vendors, keeping many from working and leaving families without income. A single day without sales means no money for rent, food, medicine, or childcare. The emotional toll is just as heavy: parents and grandparents are afraid to leave their homes, and children carry the stress of uncertainty.”
HOW TO ENTER: Donate to SVAC via link in bio and DM me a screenshot of your donation - suggested entry starts at $15. Please give more if you are able!! I will not count extra donations as extra entries as I’d like everyone to have an equal opportunity to win, BUT I will add an extra entry if you tag a friend in the comments and an extra entry for sharing the post to your story 💖
ABOUT THE QUILT: The blue front is made up of a mixture of cottons, some new from fabric stores, some vintage, some cut from thrifted garments, some dyed with indigo. The center square is a cyanotype (sun print) made by me with a paper doily heart 🩵 The batting is 100% cotton, and the yellow back was original a white cotton sheet that I dyed naturally with turmeric! The quilt measures about 46”x46”.
This raffle will last for one week, ending on October 23rd at 12pm CST. I will randomly select a winner and post on my story - good luck!!! 🥰

Our mom LOVED to eat a tomato like an apple, pausing to crack black pepper and big flakes of salt onto each bite. I always thought it was gross as a kid but now it’s the best snack around!! Especially when it’s straight from the garden, still warm from the sun 🥲
I think this is my favorite food quilt I’ve made so far, I used a mixture of cotton and linen from my stash and pretty pleased with how the wide zig zag stitches look for both appliqué and the spices :-) by @bun.anner

Poppy checkerboard quilted wall hanging ❣️ 44”x22”, pieced with red and white cotton and pink linen. NFS, keeping this one for myself sorry!! 🫠

My sketch for this guy has been staring at me from my sewing desk for a while now and it feels so good to bring it into the 3D world! I’ve honestly been avoiding sewing the past year or so, filling my time with knitting instead, and working on this has helped me remember the satisfaction of seeing little pieces of fabric come together to create a piece. I’ve got so many more quilty ideas in my head!! And now that I’ve gotten over the hurdle making the first one I can’t wait to start on the next 🙂‍↕️ by @bun.anner

I don’t think I’ll ever make a wedding dress again but I’m so pleased with how it turned out!!
I couldn’t fit everything into this video - not pictured is mostly pattern development - five bodice revisions, four sleeve shapes, and several giant skirt rectangles!

The seams or “lines” that divide each panel on the dress are technically sewn three times over! I stitched two fabric pieces together, inverted to form a french seam and stitched again, enclosing the raw edges, and then topstitched that french seam down flat. Tedious but results in a very clean finish and no rough seams poking emma from the inside of the dress.

The neckline, skirt hem, and sleeve hems are finished with tight zigzag stitches, done on top of craft paper for stability; without it the fabric would get sucked into the machine and ruin the otherwise-finished piece 🫨

Love you so much Emma but I don’t want to look at silk organza ever again!!!! 🥲 by @bun.anner

Emma and Colin got married finally and she let me make her dress 🥲🥲🥲 separate post on the making of it coming soon, but here are some moments from a week in the mountains filled with so much love!!!

It was magical to see all their friends, many of whom have been around my entire life, jump in to help with dishes, making salads, setting up tables, opening lambruscos, testing the marg machine, cutting flowers, taking photos, curling hair, setting the grill on fire 😬 Emma and Colin are so very loved by all of us and it was so evident!!!

My absolute favorite moment (second to last pic) was right before the ceremony - it was a little dreary and rainy all week but the clouds shifted and I turned around to see Emma peeking out from behind the uhaul, grinning at everyone waiting and literally glowing in the sunlight 🥹🥰🌞 taken in Estes Park, Colorado by @bun.anner
