Her family's photo albums date back to the 1950s. She spent hours as a child studying their faded, sepia-toned pages, and that early fascination still shapes her work today. Every photograph becomes an act of witnessing and preserving.

My doctor friend is addicted to hitting people on their knees to test their reflexes. He..really gets a kick out of it. Knees are among the largest and most complex joints in the human body, connecting the thighbone, shinbone, and kneecap. They allow us to walk, run, jump, squat, and bend our legs while supporting much of our body weight. The kneecap, called the patella, protects the front of the joint and helps the thigh muscles straighten the leg more efficiently. Interestingly, babies are born with kneecaps made largely of cartilage, which gradually turns into bone as they grow. Another surprising fact is that your knees don’t just bend and straighten; they also rotate slightly, especially when bent. Ligaments, cartilage, tendons, and muscles work together to keep the joint stable. Despite their impressive engineering, knees are particularly vulnerable to injuries because they regularly absorb enormous forces during movement.
