WHEN THE PERSON YOU LOVE STEPS INTO YOUR WORLD — AND DECIDES TO HELP PROTECT IT. 🌎🏓
This one was personal.
For years, conservation has been my world. Photography has been how I tell its stories, and increasingly, I’ve been asking myself how I can bring the people and communities around me into that work.
So when I had the opportunity to connect
@ladygibraltar with
@oceanconservancy Protect Where We Play, I knew there was something powerful here.
Sport has an extraordinary ability to bring people together.
And at Solutions House during Climate Week NYC, I got to watch those two worlds collide.
Lee joined
@amanitoomer_81 Toomer,
@hellojasmyne and
@17sport_ , with Jenna DiPaolo moderating, for a conversation about how athletes and sporting communities can become part of protecting the places where we live, compete and play.
But then Lee said something I wasn’t expecting.
She said I had inspired her to become more involved in conservation.
And yeah… that got me. 💙
Because this is exactly why I do this.
Not because I believe one photograph, one story or one person is going to save the planet.
But because inspiration creates action. And action spreads.
Lee has a platform and a community I could never reach on my own. Now she gets to take this message into locker rooms, pickleball courts, tournaments and conversations around the world.
That’s how movements grow.
Different worlds.
Different platforms.
One planet.
And one very proud conservation photographer watching the woman she loves use her voice to help protect it. 🌎
Protect where you play. Protect what you love.
