Today I’ll be heading to
@goodwoodrevival for my annual exhibition there, in my usual spot, next to
@robustohousecigars in the main paddock on the left of the Earl’s Court building.
I’ll have a few new things to see, including this new original painting of Le Mans 1971. It’s the only completed original piece that I have for sale, everything else is sold, with a two + year wait for commissioned work. (I will also have an incomplete piece on my easel at Goodwood of Moss 722).
It’s sized 24” x 20” plus the frame. Hand painted in acrylic paint, brush on canvas. No AI here!
Please feel free to message for more information or to reserve. If you’re at the event, please come by and say hello for a chat 😎
‘Chasing Lights’
V12 or Flat 12? You decide; either would be a ticket to a 230mph blast down the Mulsanne Straight. Can-Am and Interserie aside, 1971 was the last hurrah for the big 5 litre Group 5 sports prototypes exemplified by the Porsche 917 and Ferrari 512. This was a period of serious racing cars paired with iconic liveries - the blue and orange of Gulf-backed JWA Porsches ranged against the blue, red and white of the quasi-works cars of the Martini Racing Team and the navy and yellow of the NART Penske-Sunoco Ferrari 512. The Sunoco 512 of Mark Donohue and David Hobbs was the quickest Ferrari in practice and proved incredibly fast early in the race, seen here alongside the white Martini 917 of eventual winners Gijs van Lennep and Helmut Marko, as both chase the long-tailed 917 of Vic Elford and Gerard Larrousse into the shadows of Saturday evening.
