Let’s talk about these nuts 🌰

One of my favorite things about moving into a home built in 1790 is discovering all the whimsy in our historic neighborhood. These Chinese chestnut trees were planted 100 years ago, in 1926, by George Woods.

Sitting beneath their canopy has been one of my favorite summer activities, and this week, gathering chestnuts (and also removing some from their spiky burrs and leaving them for the 🐿️) has been a real treat.

DNA fingerprinting or matching of DNA from different Chestnut 🌰 plant of different country with this chestnut tree reveal the origin place and continent native place of this remaining plant I think or this plant become mutant or resistence from fungi during evolution I think

Such gorgeous trees. When I was growing up there was a huge chestnut tree across the street. The street would be littered with — what we used to call them — horse chestnuts.
