This is proof, you don’t need a huge garden to grow food 🙌🏼
If it’s new to you, starting small with one or two things is going to be the best way, so not to get overwhelmed but if I’m being honest some produce is “plant and forget” like Garlic or Carrots! 🥕
These are the highlights of my Summer Harvests! The most productive year yet comes with a bit of planning, and knowing what you’re going to put where, one rogue carrot even planted itself into my flower bed but nobody minded! I have been known to plant onions in my flower border.
You can literally interplanted between your flowers and inbetween each other, because maximising the use of space is key!
This year I interplanted garlic in between my apple trees & then carrots between the two, once the carrots got going, the garlic was being harvested and then that allowed room for the carrots to grow bigger. This was probably my biggest success and would recommend to everyone!
You can even grow in pots, so don’t let the possible lack of outdoor space put you off ❤️
I don’t think anyone saves money growing their own food, but sometimes it’s not about that! It’s about knowing you’ve grown something without the use of chemicals and the flavour will be incomparable with shop bought! Actually, we’ve kinda forgotten how tasty food is from getting used to watered down versions in the supermarket.
As the main growing season draws to a close, let me know what you want to grow next year in the comments 👇🏼
