I designed this years @skyarts awards statuette. I literally punched the air when I was asked to do this. Iโ€™ve wanted to do something like this for so long and it was such an honour to be asked! My concept was paying it forward. Itโ€™s a Russian doll design! The winner gets the first one. Then inside there are two more. One that you give away as a thank you and another for an up and coming artist to acknowledge them and encourage them to keep going. I feel like itโ€™s harder than ever these days to keep functioning as an artist. The @skyarts awards acknowledges this and reminds us of the joy in what we do and that itโ€™s all worth it! It was so great to see all different forms of art and people at different stages of their creative journey being recognised.
