If you have followed me a long enough you probably know that “A Little Life” is one of, if not my favorite book of all time. I know that this book is polarizing and I completely understand why, and I respect everyone’s opinions; however, I can’t deny that this book brings out emotions and things within me that other books can’t.

And that means something to me.

I am definitely itching to do a reread of it - most likely at the beginning of 2027. Regardless of how sad and tragic this book is, something brings me back to it time and time again.

What’s worse than one copy of A Little Life? Four copies. I put this book down twice. Then convinced myself that surely, it would redeem itself. Man! Was I wrong! I have disliked books before , but this mess I actually loathed. Overlong. Overhyped. Just awful. Good riddance to Jude and all his stupendously successful friends. God I hated every one of them.

BAKLAVA FANS ✨ edible little jewels for your holiday table These PISTACHIO PHYLLO FANS are crispy, crunchy, sweet, nutty and dangerously good! 😍 They look fancy but are SO easy to make with just a few ingredients. PISTACHIO PHYLLO FANS Phyllo • Phyllo dough • Avocado oil spray • Toothpicks Pistachio Cream • 12 oz peeled pistachios, lightly toasted • ½ cup powdered sugar • ¼ cup neutral oil (avocado, grapeseed or canola) Syrup • 1½ cups sugar • 1 cup water • 2 capfuls rosewater • Juice of ½ lemon Topping • ½ cup finely crushed pistachios Preheat oven to 350°F. Fold each phyllo sheet in half and cut into 3 equal strips. Spray lightly with avocado oil, then accordion fold each strip. Fold the accordion in half to form a fan and secure the bottom with a toothpick. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake about 18 minutes until golden and crisp. Watch closely because phyllo browns quickly! Meanwhile, blend pistachios, powdered sugar and oil until smooth and creamy. For the syrup, bring sugar, water, rosewater and lemon juice to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer about 10 minutes until slightly thickened. Coat each warm phyllo fan in the syrup on both sides. Let the excess drip off, then dip the tip into pistachio cream and immediately into crushed pistachios. Let them set and ENJOY! 💚 Crispy, creamy, pistachio perfection! 😍
