If you have followed me a long enough you probably know that “A Little Life” is one of, if not my favorite book of all time. I know that this book is polarizing and I completely understand why, and I respect everyone’s opinions; however, I can’t deny that this book brings out emotions and things within me that other books can’t.

And that means something to me.

I am definitely itching to do a reread of it - most likely at the beginning of 2027. Regardless of how sad and tragic this book is, something brings me back to it time and time again.

How dangerous does a fictional (or in some case, nonfictional) world have to get before you’re officially packing your bags? 😂

We’re starting with “everything is fine” and escalating all the way to literal Hell.

I tried to make each level progressively more unlivable, pulling from horror, fantasy, sci-fi, literary fiction, thrillers, and even nonfiction.

So here’s the question:
