When I say this has been YEARSSSSS in the making, I mean more than a decade. And this still feels so surreal.

Follow @invested.hq for more finance and tech news made fun ๐Ÿ˜… OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says itโ€™s โ€œquite terribleโ€ for everyone to have a chunk of the worldโ€™s limited DRAM supply sitting in their own computer. He says itโ€™s used just 5% of the time and that โ€œyou want maximum utilization.โ€ AI labs are competing for the same memory chips that go into phones, laptops, and gaming PCs. The company that needs the most DRAM is now arguing the best place for it is a data center. Memory is becoming the scarce resource of the AI buildout, and the people who control the supply get to decide who uses it. Whether that ends with cheaper cloud compute or pricier personal devices is the question to watch. #Invested #AI #OpenAI #SamAltman #Tech
