a day ago@sayheybigdaddy Fa’afetai lava for your feedback. This Fono was brought to life because of my own anau experiences cancer, so ensuring our families are supported and heard is deeply personal to me. You are 100% right—our oncology babies and parents at Starship absolutely deserve to be included and centered in these spaces. There is always room for more inclusion, I would be happy to connect and talanoa. This year I launched Pasifika Cancer Aotearoa Network the aim is to connect us, and advocate for inequities. Sending you and your anau so much alofa!
a day agoIdk any Pasefika families who are currently in active treatment at starship who were invited to this Fono and that makes me sad with everything happening on the paediatric oncology ward atm. Our babies deserve to have their voices heard. Definitely space for more inclusion at these events. I hope that Killian and I, and our friends on the ward can be invited to the next one
a day agoAn amazing first event … so much knowledge and experiences in one room!! Continue to pray for our pasifika families navigating this disease cancer … that the help they need and the care they deserve is heard!!
a day agoWe love this Peaches @__idalene__ @ahlena16 🍑 it is exactly why we showed up and helped make this happen 🫰🏽 Because our Families should be in the room, for their voices to be heard, and their lived experiences shaping the conversations that will improve cancer outcomes for our Pasifika people. #PasifikaCancerFono was about more than a talanoa... it was about making sure our people are part of the change 🤎
