This ‘Rock Spirit’ Vessel is actually, in my opinion, one of the best pieces I have ever made.
Created earlier in the year for our MDW Exhibition ‘The Grotto’ with @spiraro__ , this piece was created from moulds of two rocks at significant places to me.
I burnt seaweed collected from the same place and created a special ash glaze to coat them with. Intended as a loving tribute to place and memory. They are not rocks, but imprints of them at a time before they eroded. I just find rocks so beautiful, so sacred in an indescribably way and I wanted to bring those forms into homes.
I have kept this piece to admire all year but now it is time to pass her on - I may still change my mind :)
