CAS AND FEV WORKING TOGETHER? WHATEVER NEXT! 😃
A Cas Tigers fan heading over to Featherstone Rovers Foundation to talk about working together. Who’d have thought it!
What was meant to be an hour’s meeting turned into nearly two hours, which probably tells you how much we had to chat about!
Great to meet
@jamie.cording . A really good guy who clearly cares about Featherstone and the local community.
Really interesting to hear about some of the initiatives they’re currently working on, the projects they’ve got coming up and where there might be opportunities to support each other.
Despite everything that’s happened with the rugby club, it’s brilliant to see
@fevfoundation continuing to do some fantastic work in the community.
One thing I’ve really enjoyed over the last few weeks is getting out, meeting people and seeing just how many organisations and individuals are trying to make a positive difference locally.
That’s a big part of what I’m looking to build through
@savrrun Yes, running is part of it, but the ambition goes much further. It’s about bringing people together, improving health and wellbeing, creating opportunities and helping people realise what they’re capable of.
And I certainly don’t think we need to do all of that on our own!
It doesn’t matter what colour shirt you wear or which team you support. When you get chatting, you realise you’ve often got the same values, the same drive and the same reasons for doing what you do.
That’s what I love about these conversations. Sharing ideas, learning from each other and seeing where we can join things up rather than everyone doing their own thing.
Really looking forward to building on this relationship with Jamie and Featherstone Rovers Foundation over the coming weeks and months.
And hopefully we’ll see
@fevroversrlfc back out on the rugby pitch too!
