This has been on my mind for weeks, not sure where to go from here 😅

Any help or advice would be so appreciated, where do I go from here?

Hey! It’s hard to be full time right now, not to be a downer but having an agency doesn’t guarantee automatically you’ll have stability. It’s always worth trying to reach them out though! I can recommend you to set a professional portfolio and not waiting for jobs to come but sending lots of cold emails, also reaching back to old clients telling them you’re available. It takes time but it pays off. Work comes in waves. Diversify your streams of income also help: clients, publishers, private commissions, live events, products. If you have an idea for a project, go for it! Being an author more than an executor always pays off, especially in AI slop times.

It’s a bit of a tricky time in the industry right now, but I’d say make a website full of lots of work clients want to commission (branding, book covers, illustrated book spreads, editorial - if you don’t have this then speculative is fine!) and just email out! Cold emailing is about 50% of the job at the start xx your work is beautiful! I’m sure you will get the ball rolling again!

No advice I'm afraid, but I feel you, I'm pretty much in the same boat. I think a lot of people are. I was going to suggest selling prints/products, but it sounds as if you're on to that. I hope things pick up soon.
