Find a good thunderclap band, several of them exist throughout the Midwest, and you will notice those big bass rigs, as well as the air being moved. Keep the stage volume loud, my friends!

I think of them as studio tools most of the time! Really makes a difference there, but usually doesn’t make enough of a difference in a full live mix to justify lugging one around on tour. No FOH engineer will mic a bass amp, and if you bring one, they’ll just take a DI out of the head anyway. The amp itself just makes for a louder, less controlled stage and a muddier mix out in the house. All of that said, I still really want to own a more portable amp than my old Ampeg for rehearsals and some tone shaping 🥲

I think with the way people are going back to analog recording there’s gonna be a resurgence in the next 20 years and some people getting rid of their eight by tens and tube heads right now are gonna regret ever getting rid of that gold mine

Well my tube amps don’t need an update in software, soooooo…….. Every modeler that is bragged about is just a box using software that you don’t own. I don’t like using products where I can’t mod it or even be considered an owner of it. Kemper/fractal/quad = iStomp

Atleast i’ll still have my Bass tube preamp DI for the 3D feel it should be fine. But yes their are lighter options for an amp.

I have played a lightweight class d amp with big but relatively lightweight cabs for years. I rarely need the actual firepower of my full rig and in recent years I have barely needed it but every now and then the situation arises. I am honestly considering a mid size combo as a compromise because I genuinely do not have the space for a full rig anymore.

Dang I practice with tube combo amp and a tube amplifier when I can crank a 4-10 the thump and air shockwave is unbeatable. I don’t follow the sheep 🐑 I’m a Bassist 4 strings 🔥

Currently contemplating purchasing an Anagram cause of so many silent stage gigs. So convenient. Less to haul… but will always have my amp.
