This past weekend, we went camping. We’ve been dreaming, planning, and working on this trip for a couple of years now and we made it happen. We spent two chilly nights and three days outside with our families and friends, and strangers that became friends. We went birding, we went on an ethnobotany hike. We had pancakes made from acorn flour. We cooked community meals. Our kids played from sun up til sun down. We had s’mores and storytime by the fire at night. We talked, and laughed, and cried from getting campfire smoke in our eyes. I can’t say enough good things about this experience. 10/10 recommend (minus the smokey tears)… would definitely do it again and we’re looking forward to the next trip.
