A railway medical team helped a woman deliver a baby safely on Platform No. 2 at Rana Pratap Nagar Railway Station in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on October 14. Rashmi Yadav, a resident of Badgaon in Udaipur, experienced labour pains after arriving at the station on Train No. 19602. The station superintendent immediately alerted the medical team through an emergency call. Following instructions from Dr Mahesh Chand Meena, in-charge of Rana Pratap Nagar Railway Hospital, an ambulance and medical personnel reached the platform. Gynaecologist Dr Veena Gupta, Chief Nursing Superintendent Rakesh Sharma, and dresser Harkesh Meena assisted with the delivery. THIS IMPUNITY MUST BE STOPPED!! All landlords must connect their sewer systems to the county sewer lines and ensure that there are no leakages in their sewer lines. Once elected, I will make sure that Nairobi Water installs a proper sewer system in every sub-county, with treatment plants in every sub-county to treat wastewater before the treated water is safely discharged into the river. Cleaning Nairobi River will not be done for PR purposes, as I am seeing now. It will be done professionally, starting from the source. Anyone who has connected their sewer system to Nairobi River will face the full force of the law. As a government, we will fulfil our obligation by providing a sewer system designed to serve Nairobi for the next 100 years. No sewer line will be allowed to discharge into our stormwater drainage system. That is why I keep saying that Nairobi does not need politicians; it needs someone who understands the ground and is ready to implement the plans gathering dust on the shelves of City Hall. All these CEOs, including the CEO of Railways, who are putting their tenants at risk, will be held accountable. I will ensure that they comply with the law by connecting their sewer systems to Nairobi Water’s sewer lines. Nobody will be above the law, regardless of their position or influence. I CANNOT BE COMPROMISED. LET THAT BE CLEAR! The law must be followed, and those who violate it must face the consequences. Nairobi deserves a proper sewer system, a clean river, a healthy environment, and leaders who deliver results rather than engage in public relations exercises. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
