The first two principles of the gospel are faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and repentance. Why does the Lord emphasize those first two lessons? They’re the daily bread. He might be saying “You’ll use these 24/7. You’ll need them this morning, this afternoon, and again tonight.”

I agree! I think letting our kids see that we turn to Christ for our sins and weakness helps them feel they can turn to Him also. (Obv age appropriate sharing) but I think it’s important that our kids know we rely on Christ everyday too! We are not perfect. We make (and have made) mistakes and all is not lost because of Jesus Christ. If our sins have big consequences, being humble and willing to do what is required for restoration and forgiveness is powerful way to teach and live this scripture.
