It’s rare that we get to witness a creative in the cocoon. So often, we see the caterpillar or the butterfly, but never the in-between season. The internet is filled with twenty-somethings with complete, figured-out practices and 30 under 30 lists. But there are also humans like me— 40 year olds who enjoyed their 20’s, did the corporate thing in their 30’s, and are walking away from the robotic structure of life and embracing what’s been there all along.

In between emails, alarm clocks, work, traffic, laundry, homework, and bedtime stories is this work: prioritizing a joyful art practice and slow cooking a creative career that will one day be the way I show up all hours of the day.
