Jarne

There are few aircraft that look as impressive on departure as the Boeing 747, and Cathay Cargo’s B-LIE is certainly no exception! This beautiful 747-400F was caught departing @frankfurtairport just as the evening sun was getting lower, creating some fantastic lighting conditions for these shots.

Seeing the massive freighter climbing away on its short hop to Amsterdam Schiphol, with its landing gear slowly retracting, made for a really nice photo opportunity. Although Cathay Cargo 747s are regular visitors to Frankfurt, I am always happy to catch another one, especially when the light works out this nicely. Hopefully, the Queen of the Skies will remain a familiar sight here for quite some time!
