Will never not love designing for dance. First world premiere of the season, Allegra by Benjamin Akio Kimitch at New York Live Arts / a cosmogonic piece that feels, to me, to be about (among other, more concrete things) the persistence of dance, performance and joy through even the cruelest of times—here reflecting on a dance form which has survived 1400 years and preserves within it even older forms of diverse origin.
