Askonas Holt

Monday evening saw @junyanchenpianist and @effuimaono.tenor make their @royalalberthall debuts with the @philharmonia_orchestra for Classic FM Live. After orchestral works by R. Strauss and Mozart, Emmanuel took to the stage for performances of Schubert’s Ave Maria and Leoncavallo’s Mattinata, before joining forces with Sir Willard White for the Pearl Fishers’ Duet from Bizet’s Les pêcheurs de perles. Junyan opened her performance with Debussy’s Clair de lune, which “held the audience in rapt silence” (@classicfm), before treating the audience to the finale of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.3.

The concert can be heard on Classic FM this Thursday at 7pm (local time), and will be broadcast on Sky Arts at 9pm on 30 November.
