FOR YEARS, I HAD TO HIDE BEHIND MY PAIN OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
I had to lie, smile, laugh, hug, coordinate, organize, and show up for family while carrying wounds no one could see. I had to shut up and sit in the corner. I sat at tables with family members and friends and was not safe to talk about my abuse cause it will make it worse. Yeah, I was in more than one mentally and physically abusive relationship, but abuse will not define me.
On July 17, I decided to break my silence and turn my pain into purpose by creating D2V Determined to Be Victorious.
Through my Domestic Violence Fashion Show, I am walking in my truth to give other women hope, strength, and a voice.
To every woman who sees herself in this picture: YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Your voice matters, and you deserve safety, love, and peace.
I AM BREAKING MY SILENCE. MY PAIN WILL NOT DEFINE ME, AND MY STORY WILL HELP SOMEONE ELSE FIND THEIR VOICE.

I commend you for "turning your pain into your purpose." I think what you are doing is a positive thing. I have been an witness to Domestic Violence on two occasions witnessing two women I love getting choked. One of them men threatened to shoot me when I socked the sh*t out of him when I walked in on him choking a 90 pound woman who was my ex. You have my support. God bless you for surviving that horrific time in your life.π
