Friday we lay my Uncle Steve to rest. He was much more like a father to me, as each of my uncles happily stepped in and loved on me as their own…
I’m going to miss his full body laugh, with its cadence just like my cousin Steve Jr’s.
I love that I can still hear it in my head.
I love that he looked just like my mom.
I love how often he called and texted just to say hi.
I love that he called me “daughter two” and that my cousin Stephanie, who loves her daddy in the strongest way, happily shared him with me.
I love that he ALWAYS left a voicemail, even though he knew I’d call right back.
Second slide is one from my birthday, I must’ve missed his call and I probably didn’t even listen to it before calling right back.
I love that I still have it now though..
